Despite being slightly wartorn Beirut is a great place to enjoy the hospitality of the Middle East, it is easy to see why it used to be known as the Paris of the Middle East. As far as nightlife goes this is one of the best places I have ever visited!

Bahrain is still quite underdeveloped and not a place I'll be in a hurry to return to!!

Bern is one of the coolest cities I have ever visited, however the lake is not recommended for summer bathing, feels like 5C! Zurich is a great place in which to have a few beers and check out the sites. Innsbruck in Tirol is picturesque but absolutely absolutely freezing, how do people surivive here in winter?? EURO 2008 had a great atmosphere, the Dutch and Spanish fans by far the loudest......

Historical Castle Leslie is set in amazing grounds in Monaghan, this has got to be one of the most peaceful places on Earth!

Sao Vicente – Mindelo with its colonial buildings is a fascinating city with a superb ambience. Still underdeveloped, this city has a certain charm about it. Baia das Gatas is beautiful and destined to become a top tourist spot. Santo Antao – This rugged and mountainous island has terrifying cliff edge roads. The scenery is simply stunning, especially during the rainy season. Hugely underdeveloped, this is like going back 100 years in time! Santiago – Praia resembles a Brazilian shanty town and isn’t a wonderfully attractive place to visit. If you enjoy getting robbed, you’ll love this place.

If you ignore the weather, Scotland has it all. The highlands are stunning whilst Edinburgh is without doubt my favourite city in the world.
